Privacy policy

got1 (got1.co.uk) is a UK comparison site for energy, mobile & broadband and renting. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at support@got1.co.uk.

• Your postcode — to show results for where you live. When you pay to unlock a search, we keep the postcode with that payment.
• Your email address and password — when you create an account. Passwords are stored encrypted; we can never see them.
• Payment details — card payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid and the amount, never your card number.
• Emails we send you — such as your results PDF link and account emails, and whether they were delivered.

• To run the comparison and unlock the results you paid for (to perform our contract with you).
• To keep payment records we are required to keep by law (legal obligation).
• To keep the site secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).

We don't sell your information and we don't use it for advertising.

Only the service providers that help us run got1: website hosting and database, Stripe for payments, and our email delivery provider. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.

• Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
• Payment records and the postcode they unlocked: 6 years, for tax purposes.
• Results PDF links stop working after 24 hours.

We only use storage that's needed to keep you signed in. Stripe may set cookies during checkout to prevent fraud. We don't use advertising cookies.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Email support@got1.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
